Week One Winners Announced

1st place Clark Nash with a 41.5″ beauty, 2nd place Wyatt Rogers with a 38.25″, and in 3rd place Gabor Torok with a 36.5″.

The OG shined via Clark Nash in week one as numerous Tarpon were spotted in numbers not seen in a while.

Peter Vignot Van Beuren Jr. posted on Facebook that he’d seen hundreds of them, monster-size too, but they wanted nothing to do with a fly, live bait guys.

Chelsea Nash, Clark Nash’s daughter posted, “Go Dad! So proud of you!”

The 2022 Kick-Off Event Set for Wed., May 4th at Joyland Live!

We’re changing the venue for this year’s event and creating more of a celebration of the start of Tarpon Season for our kick-off party/captain’s meeting.

The party will be held Wed., May 4th at Joyland, 8341 Lockwood Ridge Rd, Sarasota, with registration starting at 6:00 p.m. and the party itself starting at 7:00 p.m. Your $150 entry into the tournament gets you food and fun, and a cash bar will also be available.

Jim Lopez Wins the  91st Edition of the Sarasota Tarpon Tournament

The winner of the 91st Edition of the Annual Sarasota Tarpon Tournament is Jim Lopez. He was the tournament’s week two winner and won this year’s Fish-Off with a 31″ catch. He was followed closely by Joe Kayden who finished second with a 28.5″ catch. They were trailed by Doug’s Ford and Wyatt Rogers, both with a leader touch.

Kitty Kane, still gloating and rightfully so, after showing up the guys with her week five winning fish of 41.5″ finished 5th. Sixth place went to Dawson Day, the tournament’s week three winner by recording a 39″ catch, and Tom Kane, last year’s tournament winner, finished the Fish-Off in 7th place.

This years Fish-Off participants were fired up, and ready to go on Saturday morning.

The Sarasota Tarpon Tournament Committee would like to thank everyone who participated or supported the 2021 edition of the tournament, the weather wasn’t idea but we got it done.

We hope to see everyone at this year’s Awards’ Banquet on July 16th at Gold Coast Eagle Distributing, doors open at 6 pm and all are welcome to attend.
